In 1991 Jon Carden, supported by auctioneer father, Tony, opened the doors of Cardens for the first time at Number 38 Longbrook Street.
Two hundred years earlier John Henry Force had set up in business as an undertaker in Cathedral Yard, the family business then evolving over those two hundred years into builders and then estate agents.
In 2019 Cardens acquired Force and Sons and with it the heritage associated with Exeter’s longest established estate agents.
Since our formation we have worked hard to become recognised as one of the principal firms of property consultants within the city of Exeter. Our staff are amongst some of the most experienced and knowledgeable in the city , ensuring that clients receive informed advice and expert guidance.
We like to think that todays Cardens still upholds its core principles of professionalism , respect and always working to ensure that the client receives the best service possible. That said, we continually work to modernise and improve the manner in which we operate, through staff training, use of digital technology, and proven best practices.
As members of ARLA , The Property Ombudsman Scheme and The Dispute Service, and backed by a full Client Money Protection Scheme you can be sure that your property is not only in professional hands, but very safe hands.
Our Grade II Listed offices are situated just around the corner from John Lewis in central Exeter.
